Adobe Illustrator Training - Class 4 - Pen Tool and Shape Builder Tool Urdu and Hindi | Graphics Design

Adobe Illustrator Training - Class 4

Pen Tool and Shape Builder Tool Urdu / Hindi | Graphics Design

And... it's our second class regarding pen tool, and we'll see how to trace with Pen tool, also

the layers and shape builder, that we'll see. So c'mon let's start! So first of all we need to pick the image that we'll trace on. So I've... chosen a logo. From Sportslogo.net; this logo is Memphis Grizzlies's, a basketball team. And uhh... yeah, it's quite... simple And, it's quite interesting, simple too, but it has some curves. so good practice will happen, initially I'll want you to practice with simple things so that you can learn easily, after that you can proceed to the advanced level. So, I'm gonna save this image. Alright. Okay, in Illustrator when you need to place this image, what you'll do; there are two ways- first is drag-and-drop. How to do that? See here. I go to my desktop and here's the file which I saved. I'm bringing this, and below, in Illustrator, I bring and drop it here. So there goes one method. Second one- go to File menu, and place it. Okay? Clicking on Place in File menu, and this browse window will pop up. From here, select your logo, and place it. Now in CC, the logo will appear near the cursor, or whatever image you want to insert or place. In older versions like CS6 it'll put directly on the centre of the screen automatically. So I'm clicking here, and... let's bring it to centre. Okay, one important thing I must state, when you're placing any image, it's linked by default, and is symbolized by this cross sign. Which means this image is not part of this file, but rather linked up here. Okay so let's Embed it. Embed means this image will become a part of this file. So notice up here, there's the Embed button given. Keep it (the image) selected, and I'm clicking on Embed. So now it has become a part of this file and we've placed it on the artboard. [coughing] Okay, the panels given on the right side, you can keep it opened if you wish, or you can open it individually whatever you need. So this icon is on Layers. Ahh, after opening layers;... okay let me explain what is Layers. Layers is basically just like... A cake which contains cream and sponge, and so on, so these are one kind of layers which don't let each other get combined. Same way in our illustrator, Photoshop and many software, you'll find such layers, and the benefit is that... individually we can stack layers on top of each other. And it won't be merging with each other, and we can edit anytime as we wish. So this layer, if you notice on the panel, [clearing throat] you can see an Eye icon, right? if I click on it, the layer will disappear. See? Just the nearby, there's given a Lock. If click on it then it'll be locked and I won't be able to work on it. Right? So it'll also be better if you lock it and bring another layer on top of it and start your tracing. I want to share another way [clearing throat] so this artwork won't disturb you. Quite a simple solution- keeping selected to this layer, see this small button with some lines, it's called Fly-Out button. Okay? Click on this button and you can see an option called Template. click on Template, and this layer will automatically be locked, it's opacity will be downscaled a bit. so by making template this layer will change into lighter colour and you can trace your work easily by taking a new Layer. So it'll be visible to you and won't disturb you that much. Now at the start I'm taking Pen tool; Okay if you observe, this logo is symmetrically made. so if I make the half and then copy it, it'll still work. But I can feel there are some differences at this part. Let's see what happens. So I start, you can start from any corner, I'm doing from the centre. so I can copy it half and keep it somewhere else. So, it's very simple work- just click, and... we need smooth curves here. and see here a corner comes so I click on the Anchor Point and close this handle. Correct dear? Like the same way, I'll be tracing the whole outline. Now, if you get some points wrong, better you carry on, and we can adjust it later. Another important matter- I turned on the Fill here. Which is actually wrong. I'll suggest just keep the Stroke and keep the Fill as None, because if you keep it on, your artwork will get hidden behind it. Ahh... I'm changing its colour too. Let's take red- taking bright colour so it stays visible to us. Okay? Now, I'm clicking on here. Don't worry about this now, it'll be adjusted later. Alright? And... [clearing throat] whenever you're making smooth curves, try to keep your curve handle aligned with the upcoming lines. Like I'm doing here now. [mouse clicking] Alright! So we've traced it halfway through. Now... Better you zoom in a bit and resolve the issues in the curves. [mouse clicking] Okay, one more thing to notice, by grabbing this whole line too, I can manage it, like it's not necessary I gotta adjust by curve handle only. Also you can do is- coming between this line, drag it outwards a little bit Now it'll be more helpful, you can start adjusting easily. Now, lots of issues in this place. So I'm grabbing this line, and pulling inwards. But then, this part is protruding from here. Better by this handle... I make it smaller. Alright dear. So our half part is complete. I'm gonna take a copy of this half part, and reflecting it, I'll put it here. Simply right-click, Arrange... Oh sorry, go to Transform>>Reflect, and... Vertical and Copy. I'm putting this here. Grab these two, and do Average and Join. Now let me tell you the shortcut key of Average and Join, directly both functions will take place in one step. Ctrl+Alt+Shift+J Okay dear? It'll do your Average and Join in a single step. Again zoom in here. Ctrl+Alt+Shift... and J Alright, now as I said earlier that I can feel it's a bit different here, we have to adjust it too. However, instead of building completely, better we adjust like this as it'll be easier. So here goes our full-fledged outline trace. Now we have its inside part; see, obviously we have to create this blue part. The light blue one. And, I'll suggest to let's start with... this part, I mean the dark blue one we see, that'll we be creating. So first of all what I do, is taking another layer. Or you can start in this layer too, but lock it first so it won't get disturbed. One more thing to tell you, that all the paths in one layer are visible here individually. Okay? So I've locked this path, and now gonna create the portion inside. So even if we create in pieces, still no problem. I'm starting from here. Alright dear. I've made half. And after that, I'm going outside. So don't worry about what I'm doing, you'll understand soon. It's quite an interesting technique, and this... we'll automatically bring this portion in this part. so we don't need to make this complete path repeatedly, on the outside. We did it in this way fully. So for a while let me fill this and show it so you can assume more correctly. So ah, the first path I made, I unlock it, select and giving it this light blue colour. Hiding that for some moments. And for this dark part I'm picking this colour from here. Okay for picking colours what I used is, this Eyedropper tool. What's the work of Eyedropper tool? When you need to fill your object by picking colour from another object, so the object you want to put colour in, select that, right dear? Then click on the object you want to pick the colour from, with Eyedropper tool. Okay? So here it becomes blue like this. Now if I keep both layers turned on, okay? And I select both, See here the path on behind is visible to us. Right? It's the same which has light blue outline. And this extra area I made outside, you can easily remove with Shape Builder tool. Okay what's the job of Shape Builder tool? Let me explain this to you. As an example, you have two objects here. Okay? So what you do, select these both, with Shape Builder you can join them. Simply drag on them, and it'll become a single path. Just like this! I'm showcasing this in Stroke only. Second option is that you can cut whatever part you want. So taking Shape Builder if I press Alt; notice a + (plus) sign appears, but if I press Alt then it'll show - (minus) sign. Okay? so if I drag it while pressing Alt, this portion will be cut. Now exactly we have to do this work on our logo. so I selected both of them; one small shortcut let me share with you, whatever tools you use, by pressing Ctrl you can easily get Selection tool. Okay dear? I keep the Ctrl button pressed and select these. I'm still on Shape Builder and see it's showing plus sign but as I press Alt, now showing minus sign. And as I click here, it'll all be removed from here. Now let's come here to proceed. Let's trace this blue part. First of all, I'm starting. Rather hide this too, no problem. Starting from here, I go on like this. Oops I forgot again; please turn off your Fill and keep the Stroke on. [traffic noises] Alright dear. So the same way I'm also taking it outside fully. Here I close it on this path. Now, I'm picking the same colour on this too. [clearing throat] And... In Layers, we'll keep this blue one on, and select both of them. Okay? And with Shape Builder, I minus (remove) this outer portion. so if I turn on this layer, we had made upto this so far. Now notice carefully, between these there's a gap coming. Let's adjust it. I'm selecting both of them, let's see if it joins with the gap or not. I think... nope it's not doing, so... Let's just do one thing. Bring it a bit closer. I select these, now with Shape Builder I'm gonna join this, or say I'm merging them. In the upper part too. Bring these points nearer, I'm using Direct Selection for that. Sorry. And with Shape Builder these two... I've joined, while selecting both this and this. That's it! So far this amount is completed by us. Now the question is how to bring out the details inside? I'll make it separately, for example this light blue coloured (portion), I'll rebuild this and this, along with these eyes, and our logo will be done. So, as quickly as possible, I'm starting this. Okay, it's made. [exhaling] Gotta adjust its curve a bit. Oops. For the eye part; okay this too I'm taking from outside. Same with shape builder we'll adjust it. [keyboard sounds] What I'm doing is to take a copy of this eye, the yellow part, and reflecting it. So all the layers, if I pull the panel out and keep it here then you'll easily understand how many layers I made in total for this logo. So, if we see; let me zoom in, I've hidden the template layer, and it's been completed... fully. So it was... like see it was a bit longer task, and also there are many ways to trace, but this one is quite neatly, you're aware of where you put points and what you do. And you need to practice it, a lengthy task but interestingly you can do tracing easily. Now questions may arise, that why do we trace anyway? Dude we trace because the original image we had, if I hide the layer, and if you see, I'm removing the template. If I zoom in and show you, this is a Raster image. Get it? And it'll look nice when zooming in at a limit, otherwise it'll be looking worse. If you zoom in more it'll start to pixelate. Now obviously if we get a logo or similar objects which we have to print in a very large size, Then we easily trace like this and remake it. And as it's a vector, you can easily resize it larger as you wish. So I'm stopping today's class here. And I hope you got new things to learn, and I hope you'll practice from this video too and tell your friends that "dude come into this channel and watch, (Sir is) teaching so many things." And, I'm teaching excellently, dear. My aim is to go from basic levels and... many things you'll be learning, I hope. Many students of mine who are watching now, they already know many things. But, trust me, it's mostly for those who don't know anything. And well those who know, they get a revision from this. Okay? I hope you've loved this video, and please, if you didn't subscribe yet then please subscribe to my channel, if you loved this video then give it a like. Otherwise you can dislike it too, I've no problem, no issue. I'll get to know where to improve myself. Please whatever comments you have, come below, talk to me, about what I can improve. So I hope you'll stay connected with this channel. Thank you! (😊)
